My wife and I have enjoyed using Blue Apron. They offer healthy ingredients, relatively simple recipes and easy-to-follow directions that get delivered right to your doorstep.

The service was first mentioned to me by my doctor back in March, who thought it would be a healthy alternative to all the processed foods we were consuming at home and at restaurants when we went out.

I knew I’d be eating more healthy with this service, what I didn’t count on was it inspiring me to make my own kimchi.

I love kimchi. I’m Korean. It’s only natural.

One of the recipes called for making a quick variation of kimchi. It was delicious. I realized just how easy it could be to make my own kimchi at home, so, I’m going to try.

My mother used to make all our kimchi at home, but it got so laborious for her, that she quit and began buying it at the local Korean grocery store. I bet it’s been years since she’s made her own.

Move over, Mom. There’s a new kimchi cook in the kitchen. I’ll keep you posted on the Kimchi Project.
