It’s already October. The holidays are quickly approaching. I wanted to get a jump on things, so I recently started thinking about possible gifts for all of my seven (!) young nephews. It got me thinking about some of my favorite childhood Christmas gifts. One the of most memorable toys for me was the Mazinga Shogun Warrior robot.

Look at that thing! It’s like 2 feet tall. For a 7 or 8-year-old boy, that’s the coolest thing in the world. Ever. I sure thought it was. I’m guessing my poor little sisters, however, did not, as I tortured them endlessly by shooting the toy missiles at them whenever I could. Let me repeat: it’s got missiles that shoot out of its fist! Coolest. Thing. Ever.
I’m not the only one who appreciates Mazinga. I recently looked the toy up on ebay and found that some of them go for as much as $400 these days.

I have no idea what happened to mine. I probably broke it at some point. The menacing Shogun warrior most likely then got tossed in the trash bin. It’s too bad. I should’ve taken better care of it. Who knows? Maybe I’d still have it around to pass it on as a gift to one of my nephews… or to at least torture them with it.
Ok, the last time I saw you, there were only TWO nephews!!!! Where did the other FIVE come from?!?!
