We started Sunday, our second day, in N.Y.C. with a mass at St. Paul’s and then headed to EAT Cafe for brunch.

The weather was cooperating with a beautiful day, so we decided to make our way south and walk the Brooklyn Bridge after brunch.

My wife started throwing the name “Dumbo” around a lot in the area. She explained that Dumbo is the name of the area, short for “Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass.” It’s funny how the area’s name makes no acknowledgement of arguably its most famous and revered structure — the Brooklyn Bridge.

My wife was surprised by how much the area had been developed since she was last there, about 10 years ago.

We then decided to check out Times Square after a late dinner in Hell’s Kitchen.

We ended our night with drinks at the Samovar Russian Restaurant and Bar. I had a pepper vodka. Na zdaroviya!
