It’s a new look.
I liked the simplicity of my previous blog theme but I wanted more creative control.

I envisioned old paper or crumpled paper for my blog’s new overall look. I still like the idea but the background looks too busy and dramatic. The more I look at it, the more it’s distracting, taking attention away from the content column. I hate to say it but maybe it was a bad idea? Or, I’m just a lousy photographer.
I’m not completely satisfied with its color tone either. It’s making the blog’s overall look too dreary. I’d like a more classic, subdued color scheme presentation, but this palette may be too dull.

There’s just something about the whole thing that doesn’t quite fit with what I had in mind.
I think I’ll keep the header banner though; that, I like.
It’s a work in progress and it will be for a while. I’ll continue tinkering with the picture I took of the crumpled paper in Photoshop to see if I can soften it up, and I’ll keep searching for a color tone that makes the background photo look more like actual paper. I still like the idea. I’ll see if I can get it to work.
In the meantime, let me know if you have any suggestions.
