The trailer for Steven Spielberg’s movie “Lincoln,” opening in November, became available on the internet this week. The story dramatizes the last four months of Abraham Lincoln’s life. I can’t wait. This thing’s right in my wheelhouse. It’s about my all-time favorite president, Lincoln; it’s based on one of favorite historical books, “Team of Rivals,” by Doris Kearns Goodwin, and it stars my favorite actor, Daniel Day-Lewis, as the 16th president.
The trick for me is to keep my lofty expectations in check. Sometimes I get so excited for a movie that I rush into a theater expecting the world. I’m usually met with disappointment. It’s going to be tough with this one though. Just watch the trailer and you’ll know what I mean.
