Not much writing to report but it still turned out to be a celebratory weekend with lots of good happenings.

Both the Trojans and Seahawks won their respective football games and I got to hang out with my wife at a school fundraising festival and an Oktoberfest party. Not too shabby.

The school for our church, St. Paul the Apostle, held its annual fundraising festival over the weekend. It looked to us like it was a big success with a great turn out. How could we tell? There was little parking available in our neighborhood due to all the extra cars. At the festival, there were rows of booths with games and prizes, a number of food vendors and amusement rides. My wife, who went to the school as a kid, was excited for me to experience it for the first time. She told me it was the best school festival in town. We didn’t stay long, but we grabbed a quick bite and we even took a ride on the ferris wheel. Good times!

The fun continued into the next day. We attended an Oktoberfest party that our good friends Kirsten and Carlos throw every year. As usual, there was plenty of good beer, homemade sausage, German sing-alongs, and the chance to catch up with some old friends. Good times!
